A bit of fun press ran in the Winter Edition of Illinois Meeting and Events Magazine. The article detailed several of Illinois' "Top Acts" for corporate events and included a full page spread of color photos!!
Here's the article:
Chicago-based magician Dennis Watkins knows how to work a room. During networking events like awards dinners or cocktail receptions, Watkins provides "strolling entertainment" by wending his way through a venue and performing close-range magic using everyday items like cards or money. "I let magic happen right in their hands. It's really fun, engaging and light, but it also serves a very valuable purpose: Magic is a great conversation starter and gets people involved in the event and each other," he said.
For after-dinner entertainment, Watkins' stage show blends comedy with interactive magic designed to get VIPs out of the audience and into the spotlight. Thanks to extensive pre-show planning, Watkins can include a corporate message, product branding or, for example, a company CEO in his script. "Each show is really created for the people in the room," he said.
"He was very personable, entertaining and engaging," said Joe Venturella, whose company, TTI, Inc., hired Watkins to perform during a business dinner for suppliers who traveled to Chicago.
Planners also hire Watkins to keep corporate meetings moving by performing short bits of magic between breakout sessions, or look to Watkins to maximize their tradeshow ROI with custom-designed magic tricks meant to build and keep a crowd around an exhibit.
